Emma has sometimes found herself waking up in the middle of the meadow and seeing the expanse of green brightened by big splashes of white. Snow, late snow, they told her. But this year it’s all white, there’s not a blade of grass to be seen… It’s that old alarm clock’s fault, going off months too early. She should get it repaired. But in the meantime, why not make the most of it and go skiing with Lampo the hare, ice-skate on the frozen pond with Grugno the piglet, and have a big party with all her friends? The pyrotechnical illustrations by Spider, who with Emma turns his hand to writing too, provides an imaginative answer to one of the many questions that go through children’s minds: where do the flowers go during winter?
