The planet Vanesium, smack bang in the middle of the Milky Way, really is a unique planet. The inhabitants of this world are obsessed with physical appearance and growing old is a crime. What better place to hold the Miss Galaxy contest? It’s the night of the finals, there are six contestants left: a millipede from Hagarahu, 106 pairs of multicolored eyes and 600 hundred lovely legs; Karcaronzkor from Konkaduras, muscles of stone and titanium skin; a mermaid from Titano with big violet eyes and a head of hair twenty meters long; a Zirconia from Cartierius, with a body made of zircopoino, the rarest diamond in the cosmos; and Pancalia TrylaHt 163, made on a plastocompter. But in the grand theater Vanesium Arena, the galactic spectators will not be swayed by abundance, strength, rarity, or variety. The winner of Miss Galaxy is… Imagia. Why, she didn’t even take the stage. Yet everyone voted for her. Nothing is more beautiful than imagination.
